A Prayer Of Thanks And Repentence
by DT inthank you jehovah god for this meeting which is really a luxurious spiritual banquet.
we appreciate the way your son appointed the governing body to provide us with this rich spiritual food at the proper time.. if there are any changes or revisions presented tonight to past truths, please help us to accept them immediately as in a "twinkling of an eye" so that we will not be out of step with your grand celestial chariot for even a moment.. we realize that we all fall short of pleasing you many times and beg you humbly for your forgiveness.
in particular, we must ask you to forgive us for placing our trust and loyalty in the group of anointed on earth, since we mistakenly thought that they were appointed by your son to feed us.

That would be a laugh if someone were to give that prayer. I can picture it now...all heads bowed, some nodding in agreement...and then the big WTF moment as the elder body rushes the platform calling on Jehovah's er..the name of the GB and quickly escorts Br. Obviously Apostate out to the parking area out back and start pelting him with large stones. Leslie

How do you work through the Anger
by jworld inhow do you deal with the anger when your parents stop talking to you?
my partner says i should continue to confront them but it builds so much anger in me and i sometimes i think i should just let it go and bring balance back to my own life.
it's sort of sureal to mourn your parents while they are still alive.

As harsh as this may sound, we either choose to remain angry or we choose to let it go. I think you made an excellent point in your opening post about bringing balance back into your life. When I left I wallowed in pity at the loss of contact with my 2 adult children. I wasted time dwelling on the if onlys. If only they would see through the BS, if only the Wt would crash and burn, if only...Well after wasting considerable time (approx. 4 yrs) I realized that my anger/grieving over this whole mess was allowing the Cult to rob me of my well-deserved happiness. They had already taken the bulk of my life and I wasn't letting them have any more! Sometimes you just have to let it go and realize you will most likely not change their mind.
The organization likes to point at the ex-JW's and say, "see how unhappy they are since leaving". As one poster remarked during my pre-posting on JWN, the best example is to live life well. At least this way at least we will be happy and who knows this in itself may trigger them to think. Just my .02 cents.
All the best to you, and things will get better! Leslie

Love your Halloween decor. It is so much fun recapturing the little kid inside and letting him/her loose. I'm 57 yrs. old but my inner child who missed out as a born-in, is making up for lost time with the celebrations. Freedom is great! Leslie

I admit to being a purse killer. Does not seem to matter what it's made of, I will destroy it in less than a year. I prefer black with lots of zippered top sections. Must have interior pockets as well for bank book, extra keys etc. I have to restrict the size to medium or I put so much in it that it's like toting a cement block around. It must have an adjustable shoulder strap. I do not enjoy purse/bag shopping because it takes a long time to get just the right one. Last purse I got for spring/summer/fall is a beige canvas sort of thing and has actually held up fairly well. Mind you, it's only 6 months old, I'm sure it will be dead by X-mas. lol -Leslie

Thanks Frankie for the wiki links and interview footage. (Have dial up, no high speed so can't view vids) At least with the names of the interviewees I can look for some books. I find this very interesting! Leslie
